About UsMilldamcreek Miniature American Shepherds began in late 2016 with our first litter arriving in January 2017.
Though relatively new to breeding dogs, we are no strangers to raising quality animals. Our family has bred and raised American Quarter Horses for over 30 years, producing multiple Superior point earners, Congress Top 10s, and an AQHA Super Horse (a title granted to 1 horse every year). Having horses, we have always had a herding breed, but it wasn’t until 2005 that we added our first Australian Shepherd to the family. Connor made us fall in love with the Aussie's intelligence, willingness to please, energy with the ability to turn it off, and his unwavering love for his family. He sadly passed away unexpectedly at the age of 4. He wasn’t with us for long, but he left a lifelong mark on our hearts, and a permanent love for the breed. In 2010, Kelly brought home our first Miniature Australian Shepherd puppy, Tucker. In 2012 Hannah added another Mini Aussie to the family, Austin. Then, in 2014 after the passing of our 12 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Aubrey, we added Bailey to the family. Aubrey left a huge hole in our hearts, and though a new dog can never take the place in your heart of a great one, Bailey has been such a wonderful addition to our family. She is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever had. She loves to be loved, and treats everyone she meets like family. Bailey’s temperament is really what sent us on this adventure. She brought (and continues to) bring us so much happiness; we wanted to give others the opportunity to experience what she brings to our lives. Our favourite thing about raising horses has always been producing good minded, talented animals that go on to have successful show careers, and are thoroughly enjoyed by their people. Our goals with the Miniature American Shepherd are very much the same: to raise healthy, and good-tempered dogs with correct conformation who go on to successful “careers”, whether that be in the conformation ring, dog sports, or simply being a wonderful companion for their family. |
