Johnny is sweet, very smart and food motivated. Medium-High energy. He likes clicker sessions, and is eager to work. He does like to talk. He seems to have a decent off switch despite his antics haha. He seems toy motivated as well so far. Likely a good hiking/walking/running partner. Someone could have fun with him participating in agility, rally-o, trick training etc. He will do best in a home that is well structured (i.e. won't let him rule the roost). He previously discovered that he could catapult himself from the Kuranda bed, grab the top of the play pen they are in, and escape. He managed to do this twice before we sneakily watched him to see how he was escaping ...talk about a problem solver. Needless to say the Kuranda bed is no longer in the puppy pen.
He is a sweet and loving boy, and I do think he could be a lot of fun in agility or rally-o. I do expect him to be somewhat of a patience tester - if given an inch, will take a mile...so it will be very important for his new family to implement rules/structure from the get go and stick to them. NOT for the first time dog owner - I am looking for someone who has experience with moderate to high energy herding breeds, or other higher energy breeds, who has an interest in trying dog sports.
The only reason Johnny is still available is that he is not the best match for those who are currently waiting/those who are able to take a puppy this year.
If you have sent in the initial application form to me already, and you have the experience and ideal household for Johnny, please email me again to touch base.
